Thank you for taking the time to find out who we are, what makes us different and what sets us apart from other print shops.
First of all, let's cut to the chase of who we are NOT:
If you are looking for photo copying, document or slide scanning, film development or photo collages you can stop right here... that's not our bag...BUT if you are looking for photo or art prints (8x10 and up on a variety of materials) or commercial printing (promotional posters etc) please read on...
Who are we??
Good question...and an excellent place to start.
Founded in 2007 by husband and wife Loris & Libby Toppan, along with her childhood friend, businessman Tim Kempe, Colourlab Bermuda Ltd was created to provide fine art digital printing services to businesses, artists and residents who have an appreciation for quality, attention to detail and high standards.
What makes us different?
Bottom line? We really care...many of our customers are repeat customers. We have grown from a tiny home office, to a little shop on Ord Road in Paget, to a large workshop in the City of Hamilton...all by word of mouth. If the print outcome matters to you, and if you care about quality, longevity and colour accuracy, the word is that "Loris is the guy" and Colourlab Bermuda Ltd is the place to go.
In all honesty, we really care about producing the best possible prints. Whether it be art or photo reproductions for artists and photographers, from hobbyists to professionals, we do it all and treat all with the same love and attention. Family photos, treasured moments, special memories and we can even replicate your children's art so both grandparents can have a copy! Loris is well known locally and abroad for his attention to detail and dedication to perfection. Local artists, galleries and museums all trust his keen eye and extraordinary restoration and colour management skills...he's also known for restoring and breathing life back into faded images, old artwork and even a few famous maps that had degraded over a century (or two)!
Proud to have been chosen as the official printer of the Bermuda Society of Arts, Colourlab works closely with the local arts community. Providing archival prints on art papers and canvas, carefully selected for quality and longevity, for a broad cross section of artists, many of whom participate in gallery shows across the island (and even abroad). Securing trust in both professional and emerging artists, Colourlab prints have repeatedly won awards and provided an avenue for artists to increase sales, attesting to our commitment to supporting artists.
We're not just for artists
Our commitment to excellence has helped our prints find their way into boardrooms and bedrooms, livingrooms and offices, restaurants and Air B'nB's. We all have those special images we've taken, or had taken, that we adore and inspire us. Imagine surrounding yourself with your favourite memories or with imagery that connects with and enhances the space? We can help you with that!
What sets us apart?
Combining archival papers and inks allows us to provide
prints with a lifespan of up to 150* years. To better serve our clients
against Bermuda's humid climate, which is very inhospitable to paper
products and rapidly affects extensive damage, we offer a protective,
environmentally friendly liquid sealant that effectively forms an
invisible shield against the elements including humidity, sunlight and
even mold. For commercial clients, Colourlab’s colour and image management sets us even further apart. Specialized hardware, software and processes, exclusive to Colourlab, ensure true, calibrated colour for imagery used in books, annual reports and corporate applications, including adherence to brand specifications.
